There are celebrities in the film industry, and then there are gods of the silver screen. The latter is Brad Pitt, who also has a chance of being the very last one to hold the title in Hollywood. In the early stages of his career, Pitt was known as the handsome and goofy surfer-bro next door who made all the girls swoon. However, he quickly demonstrated that his talent and taste were more than just his good looks, and by the middle of the 1990s, he was a serious force courting the most coveted roles in the industry.
Even now, a 58-year-old actor, who won an Oscar, has been spotted having a great time while promoting his newest action film, Bullet Train, in Europe. Before it releases, let’s take a look at his other action films that have entertained us.

10. Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)
Some movies are successful only due to the wattage of their star power. This is the situation with the action-comedy ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith‘, which is a rip-off of the ‘True Lies’ playbook with the added twist that the husband and wife (Pitt and Angelina Jolie) are both lying to one another and leading double lives as professional assassins.
The film is never quite able to reach the screwball humor of James Cameron’s 1994 blockbuster, but the sexual connection between Pitt and Jolie is evident. In fact, the two actors fell in love while they were working on the project.

9. Snatch (2000)
Pitt plays the role of Mickey, an incoherent Irish tourist, in this British ensemble comedy. Mickey gets trapped in a web of deception and violence that surrounds a diamond in the breeze that is being followed by numerous criminal groups.
The ridiculousness of the narrative, along with the sharp humor written and directed by Guy Ritchie, is the film’s greatest strength. There are a lot of subtle jokes in it, like a dog who eats the diamond, which puts everyone on a collision course since they’re all trying to get it back. In addition to Benicio Del Toro and Jason Statham, the ensemble is comprised of a diverse group of other actors as well.
8. Allied (2016)
In order to carry out their mission to murder a German ambassador in Casablanca during World War II, Wing Commander Max Vatan (Brad Pitt) and French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Marion Cotillard) disguise themselves as husband and wife.

During the course of their assignment, they fall in love and get married. Nevertheless, a secret might endanger their relationship. Both Pitt and Cotillard deliver strong performances as two strangers who fall in love despite the destruction in the world around them in this gorgeous picture. The film is reminiscent of the World War II action-packed films of the 1940s.
7. World War Z (2013)
In this post-apocalyptic horror flick, Pitt demonstrates his abilities as an action hero by battling several types of zombies. He plays the role of Gerry Lane, a former investigator for the United Nations who is now living a quiet family life. But, he is forced back into action to investigate the origin of a virus that is turning people into zombies.
The critically acclaimed blockbuster garnered mostly positive feedback, with reviewers and moviegoers applauding both the film’s exciting ride and Pitt’s credible turn as an action hero.

6. Se7en (1995)
In this gripping thriller, a retiring investigator named William Somerset, played by Morgan Freeman, is teamed up with a freshly promoted detective named David Mills, played by Pitt, in order to investigate a string of killings that are inspired by the seven deadly sins. Mills has a short fuse and is arrogant, whereas Somerset is more seasoned and methodical in his actions; despite this, the two of them, along with Mills’ wife Tracy (Gwyneth Paltrow), build a bond as they search for the serial murderer.
‘Se7en’ is a film that still holds up well to this day, and its finale is considered to be one of the most terrifying and unsettling in the history of cinema.
5. Ocean’s Eleven (2001)
George Clooney and Brad Pitt are two of the 10 crooks and con artists who get together to plan the greatest heist, which has a potential payout of one hundred and fifty million dollars in the film.

Both guys perfectly capture the essence of their ‘Rat Pack’ predecessors – Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, as they appeared in the original 1960 film. The intellect that Pitt brings to the role of Rusty Ryan in the 2001 adaptation sets him apart from Clooney’s portrayal of Danny Ocean in the film. The intrigue of the narrative comes from a bunch of bandits who are after a swindling casino magnate played by Andy Garcia and who achieve their goal in a way that is both covert and in your face.
4. Troy (2004)
Achilles, a great Greek warrior, is shown by Wolfgang Petersen in his version of the Helen of Troy story from Greek mythology, in which Pitt portrays the mythical warrior. According to a script by ‘Game of Thrones‘ creator David Benioff, this scenario takes a decade-long battle described in the poem and turns it into a D-Day-style assault complete with swords and spears. The result is a clichéd war film that seems like a weekend getaway.
Achilles is unsure of his fighting skills throughout the story, and he finds himself in a David vs. Goliath showdown at the finale. Pitt put through months of training to be sure he could pull off the action role he was cast in.
3. Inglourious Basterds (2009)
The name Basterds was given to a group of vicious Jewish troops who earned their renown by scalping Nazi soldiers in a territory that was under German occupation in France. This group was headed by the allied commander Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt).
Following the disastrous conclusion of their encounter with the undercover spy and German actress Bridget von Hammersmark, their objective converges with the vindictive scheme of theatre owner Shosanna Dreyfus, whose Jewish family was murdered by the Nazis.
2. Fight Club (1999)
As an isolated office worker plagued by chronic sleeplessness, Edward Norton meets Brad Pitt’s anarchist Tyler Durden, whom he wishes to emulate. Together, they create Fight Club, which is the only outlet for their mutual skepticism and cynicism.

The discourse between Durden and the narrator, frequently on the advantages of free will and breaking free of society’s unwritten laws, is humorous throughout. Durden, on the other hand, has more nefarious motivations in mind when it comes to fighting, which he has branded a national phenomenon. It’s possible that the themes of spiritual ascension, identity crisis, and generational stagnation explored in the film are relatable for today’s youth.
1. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007)
This epic crime drama film, which was adapted from Ron Hansen’s novel of the same name, published in 1983, has garnered several honors for its photography.
It relates the account of how Jesse James, an outlaw, was killed by Charley and Robert Ford, two of his recruits who were envious of the man. Their strategy, however, backfires on them since they neither get the reward money that the governor had promised nor do they become famous for killing Jesse.
